SEPEHR MAGHSOUDI

watching without seeing

Inspiration

A childhood recollection: Sepehr describes his memory of walking to school, the bright light of the moon shining through the trees, and the beauty of twinkling stars. Suddenly he realizes it’s only 3 AM and far too early for his daily walk to school.

Sepehr Maghsoudi recently presented his 12th collection “Watching without Seeing” for a large audience of fashion professionals and fashion lovers in Amsterdam. With this sparkling show Sepehr showed his innovative vision on next winter season’s fashion, again living up to the expectations of his audience in a most amazing way.

Sepehr’s latest collection F/W 2015 includes men and women designs and focuses on significant cuts, detailing and silhouettes. Besides that, pure Scottish wool was one of the unique elements, next to beautiful handmade knitting and Buddhist inspired colours like burgundy and sun yellow as well as navy, off-whites and various tones of blacks.

All these designs express Sepehr Maghsoudi’s thoughts and dreams upon a better world, love and tolerance. Like in the real world: not all this beauty is directly visible; some may be hidden inside the design. As in his previous collections the designs are related to Sepehr’s childhood recollections.

Sepehr describes his memory of walking to school, the bright light of the moon shining through the trees, and the beauty of twinkling stars. Suddenly he realizes it’s only 3 AM and far too early for his daily walk to school. This dreamy starting point resulted in a versatile collection with many wearable pieces, whereas his characteristic edgy and sculptural forms have become more curved. These organic designs go very well with the beautiful hand knit items of this collection.

Once more Sepehr surprises with his amazing designs, on the one hand rubbing against visual arts and on the other creating a wearable collection. He has definitely developed his signature concerning form with this latest collection, in which his folding techniques show a master’s hand.
